I have never been able to relax with my arm behind my head and elbow in air. Jeff does it all the time. Apparently Gwen likes it!

The Best Part of a New Water Heater

Two nights ago I was in the laundry room, you guessed it, doing laundry. I looked over at the hot water heater and noticed the pan under it was full of water! After a late night visit by my favorite handyman, Dad :) I cleaned up the water and kept an eye on it. It only took one load of laundry to start leaking.
(insert swear word of choice here)
After a check up that required emptying it, hauling it outside and peeling the bottom off (again all done by my favorite handyman) it was decided that it knew exactly when the 7 year warranty was up.
A new water heater was purchased and installed and it is humming away dry and happy in my laundry room. I am ecstatic to have hot water but I had hot water before so really it just makes me grumble and wish I could have gotten Jeff an iPad instead.
There is a happy ending to this don't worry. It came in a box!



They love it! It has a door (with a handle) and a double hinged sun roof! It has been decorated since this picture too.

Gwen's Balloons

Gwen came with me to pick up the balloons for her duck themed birthday party. She was so happy about them when we got home I let her wander around with them, after all they were for her!

My Backyard!

We have a lovely large untamed backyard. Last year at this time we had a tree removed, the stone fountain removed, two lilacs taken out and half the back yard roto-tilled.
I have been looking forward to spending some nice spring days letting Max and Gwen run around while I sit in my cozy cushioned yard chair and knit.
There have been 3 nice days so far and I have spent all of them doing yardwork! Ok I understand you have to do some clean up in the spring - I am so happy now.
I weeded tons of dandelions, pressure washed the patio and hauled the furniture out.

Banana Bread Time

We had some banana begging to become banana bread.


Max and Gwen waited very nicely while I found the recipe and skimmed over the instructions. Max even helped me read the numbers and get out the ingredients.
Gwen's main job was assistant mixer and smasher.


The instructions say it has to cool for 2 hours before eating. Not likely!
